EARLY CHILDHOOD MUSIC TEACHER
Join us in inspiring a love of music in pre-K classrooms around the Bay Area through fun, interactive music programming! The Early Childhood Music Teacher is responsible for delivering Harmony Monsters Music’s 30-minute curriculum in multiple preschool classrooms on a weekly basis.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform an established, developmentally-appropriate program for students under 6 years old in group sizes of up to 20
- Communicate effectively with teachers and generally support positive communication between preschool clients and Harmony Monsters Music
- Collaborate and coordinate with Harmony Monsters Music colleagues as needed
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with musical performance, including the ability to proficiently play a guitar or ukulele and sing
- Some early childhood education and/or preschool work experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with people of all ages
- Cultural competency and ability to interact effectively with people across cultures, ethnic groups, and identities; verbal fluency in a language other than English is desirable
- Enthusiasm for working with kids as well as for music, art, and community-building
- Proven ability to manage time effectively
Working Conditions
- Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license are required for travel to client sites that are predominantly within the East Bay
- Personally-owned guitar or ukulele is required for performance; all other equipment and supplies will be provided by Harmony Monsters Music
- Frequently moves about while performing to deliver an engaging youth program
- Annual background check required
